For more than forty years I have travelled the world following a passion that, over time, has become far more than a simple interest in fishing.
Every journey has always begun with one precise obsession: the search for a fish.
And almost always, behind that fish, there was a new country to discover, a sea, a river, a culture, a landscape and a story to take home with me.
So, over the years, my personal map of the world began to fill with species and places. Every fish became the symbol of a journey. Every journey, the memory of a different encounter with nature.
I have fished in tropical seas, great rivers, lagoons, remote coastlines and waters much closer to home. I have chased iconic species and almost unknown fish, always with the same curiosity: to understand where they live, how they are made and what makes each of them unique.
Fishing the World was born from this story.
It is my way of gathering and telling more than forty years of travel, fishing and encounters with the fish of the world, turning them into a visual archive inspired by the great plates of natural history.
It is not just a collection of fish.
It is a collection of places, experiences and memories.
Because, for me, every fish tells of a place in the world.
